What is it, and what can I do to help?
The Gateway Project is the manifestation of a vision began more than ten years ago by a group dedicated to the continued expansion of this county's only college preparatory school. It has been a community-wide effort of providing a state-of-the-art facility for the more than 270 students who attend.
Phase I of the building project which includes the entire building addition, expanded cafeteria, two new bathrooms, and two classrooms was completed August 2006.
Phase II which includes completing the inside of the hallway, three kindergarten classrooms, maintenance room, and teacher's workroom was completed August 2007.
The completion of Phase I and Phase II has served the entire student body, faculty and staff using the newly expanded cafeteria.
Phase III, finalized this August 2010, completed the building out of the new wing of the school.
Gateway is an independent fundraising project that will require commitment and resolve to complete. Many area families and friends have supported this effort with time and talent, as well as financial resources. Participation by all of us is the key to our success. While we hope to be the recipient of some large gifts, the leadership at PHA recognizes that the bulk of our funds will come from the collective effort of many individuals and smaller gifts. No gift or pledge is too small to make a difference. This expansion project is happening brick by brick, room by room, and will stand as a monument to our dedication and belief in Patrick Henry Academy.
You can participate in this project by making a tax-deductible gift to the "Gateway Project". Make an investment in PHA, our community and our future.
